Hategan leads the club in call-ups, having been called up to a U.S. Soccer Youth team six times since first joining the Academy in 2015. Four of those were while he was still a member of the Academy under current Republic FC Head Coach and then-U-15/16 Head Coach Simon Elliott, while the last two have come as a member of the Republic FC first team roster. Hategan is one of three players who lead the current U.S. U-18 roster in seasons in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy with five seasons. The 16-year-old midfielder made his first team debut in a friendly on July 15, 2017, in a friendly against Liga MX club CF Pachuca.
