In honor of National Jersey Day, Republic FC shares the extensive collection of over 450 jerseys or kits that Equipment Manager, Alejandro Caparelli has obtained. For most, reading that number would give them anxiety, but Caparelli (Capi) takes great pride in his collection.
“I started collecting kits as soon as I started working with professional soccer clubs back in 2008,” Capi stated. “I’ve met so many great people and great football players and one day I decided to ask someone for a jersey and it started from there.”

Not only is the collection extensive, but the variation of jerseys is broad with around 100 different clubs in the compilation. The most obscure of the group is a signed Boca Juniors kit, from the legend, Diego Armando Maradona.
The kitman beloved by the players and staff initially began collecting jerseys for the memories, but it became more than that.
“For me, it’s something down the line I can’t wait to see how many I can collect and hopefully pass it down to my kids since they’re passionate about football as well,” Capi said.

Throughout the world, the diversity and creativity in kit designs are massive like Capi’s collection, but he declares that his favorite remains to be from Boca Juniors, his hometown club in Argentina.
Capi gives new meaning to the title ‘Kitman’ and his impressive and comprehensive collection continues to expand.
