Sacramento Republic FC announced today that the club and Kellogg’s will extend and grow their partnership for the 2022 season. In a continued effort to address food insecurity, the two organizations will again partner with locally-owned grocer, Raley’s, to help raise money for the region’s food banks through the Food for Families program. This year’s donation drive program will return in April, and will expand to support young soccer players, providing a fun place to play on match days at Heart Health Park.
“Every time we have called on our fans and the community to uplift those in need, they have delivered,” said Republic FC President and General Manager Todd Dunivant. “Along with our Indomitable partners at Raley’s and Kellogg’s, we were able to raise $25,000 for local food banks in 2021, and this year, we want to surpass that to address food insecurity – and now sustainability – for even more people in the region.”
“The Kellogg Company is excited to partner again with Sacramento Republic FC and Raley’s to help raise money and awareness for local food banks. This opportunity aligns with our mission to drive growth through purpose – addressing food security and creating Better Days for 3 billion people by the end of 2030. We know that Food Banks need support and we want to do our part to help,” said Jace Bourque, Director of Sales.
At every home game during the 2022 season, Republic FC will invite its younger fans to stay active and healthy in the Kellogg’s Kids Zone at Heart Health Park. The region’s leading youth soccer camps and clinics coaches will be on hand to help the next generation of soccer players as they take a shot on goal in the mini-pitch, or practice their skills before heading to the stands to watch the Indomitable Club on the field. On select match days, kids will have the opportunity to interact with Kellogg’s characters including Tony the Tiger, Toucan Sam, and others while having the chance to sample some of the company’s favorite healthy and savory snacks.
In addition to promoting play in the Kellogg’s Kids Zone, Republic FC and Kellogg’s will once again work together to address food insecurity. Building upon 2021’s successful campaign which helped to raise $25,000 for local food banks, the partners will work with Raley’s Family of Fine Stores to raise $75,000 in 2022. The donation drive will provide much-needed resources for Feeding America-aligned food banks throughout Northern California and Nevada, which directly benefit over 1.5 million people each month. As Earth Day approaches, the program will focus on sustainability and nutritious meals.
The newly-designed Kellogg’s Kids Zone will be open this Saturday, March 12, when Republic FC kicks off its 2022 USL Championship campaign. The Indomitable Club will host El Paso Locomotive FC with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at SacRepublicFC.com/single-match-tickets and fans in attendance will receive special opening night giveaways, including a cheer card and a blanket presented by UC Davis Health. The match will also be broadcast live on 40.2 Antenna TV in English and Spanish, as well as streaming live on the Fox40 mobile app, on smart televisions and through FOX40.com. The match will also be available on ESPN+.
