Through the end of October, Republic FC, Kellogg’s and Raley’s are partnering to address food insecurity throughout Northern California. With the support of community members and fans, the program will donate up to $50,000 to Raley’s Food For Families, bringing the total donation to $100,000 raised for regional food banks. Now through November 1, twenty cents of every purchase of over 50 different Kellogg’s products at Northern California Raley’s, Raley’s O-N-E Market, Bel Air, and Nob Hill Foods stores will help grow the donation to combat food insecurity.
“As a part of our Unified Community core value and based on the previous success in this continued fight to help the hungry, we are proud to once again partner with Raley’s and Kellogg’s to benefit our neighbors in need,” said Republic FC Chief Revenue Officer Dustin Vicari. “Since last year, the community has already helped us raise $50,000 for Raley’s Food For Families, and we’re looking forward to doubling that in this newest campaign.”
“As part of our Kellogg’s Better Days purpose platform, we’re helping to end hunger and are committed to creating Better Days for three billion people by the end of 2030,” said Jace Bourque, Kellogg’s Regional Director. “We are approaching $100,000 raised for Food For Families since last October, and we are committed to reaching that goal alongside Republic FC and Raley’s.”
According to Feeding America, 14.4 percent of residents and 19.3 percent of children in Sacramento County are facing food insecurity, meaning that at times, they lack access to enough food for an active, healthy lifestyle for all household members or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate foods. Funds from this campaign will be distributed to county food banks.
“With Sacramento region food banks seeing record turnouts and the holiday season approaching, this is a crucial time to support organizations addressing food insecurity,” said Chelsea Minor, Executive Director of Raley’s Food For Families. “Food For Families partners with local food banks to provide the necessary resources for those in need. On behalf of our food bank partners and distribution agencies, thank you for working with us to nourish our communities.”
Kellogg’s became a Republic FC partner during the 2021 season, much of which can be attributed to the fact that the two organizations hold similar values, including a commitment to the community. Earlier this year, the partners teamed up with Raley’s and Delta Dental to provide hygiene kits and family meal kits to students in Robla School District, which is one of the city’s most underserved and poverty-stricken communities.
