This weekend, Republic FC continues its month-long Pride celebration, taking into the community to promote equality with fans and supporters alike. On Sunday, June 11, members of the club’s front office will join the Sacramento LGBT Center and greater Sacramento community at the 2023 Pride March. Fans are welcome to join in on the festivities, which will begin at Southside Park and proceed along 10th Street to the State Capitol. Cap City Crew will be handing out Republic FC flags to those attending the march with the club.
Republic FC’s participation in the annual march continues the month and season-long celebration of Pride and the Sacramento region’s LGBTQ+ community. Last week, the club unveiled an all-new Pride-inspired merchandise collection, designed by The Trevor Project Creative Director Nathanio Strimpopulos. On June 24, the club will award a local LGBTQ+ student with a $1,000 scholarship with the support of the Sacramento LGBT Community Center, and all month long, the club will donate $100 for every goal scored in support of the Sacramento LGBT Community Center and Athlete Ally’s Playing for Pride Campaign.
Alongside the march, the Sacramento LGBT Community Center is hosting the annual Sacramento Pride Festival on Capitol Mall. This year’s Pride Festival will feature hundreds of exhibitors and vendors from throughout the region, including community retailers, diverse food and beverage, nonprofit and public service providers, faith communities, and many more.
