Republic FC’s academy squads completed another weekend of unbeaten play as they hosted Napa United at Cosumnes River College on Sunday. The five-win afternoon – a perfect slate by all the club’s academy teams – extended its undefeated streak to seven straight weekends.

Big-time offensive performances resulted in a combined +25 goal differential for the day. Sacramento netted 27 goals and only let by two, while earning three shutouts. The U16s posted the biggest victory of the day, reaching double-digits through five different goal scorers. Austin Thum netted four scores, while Sean Baitinger netted a hat trick in an 11-0 win. The U15s followed suit with a 9-goal performance from three different players.
The U14s contest was scoreless at the halftime break, but goals form from Tegvir Bhinder and Liam Oporto secured all three points. In the U13s and U17s contests, a pair of late winners secured victories after the visitors battled back to equalize. Jesus Esparza sealed the win two minutes remaining on the clock for the U13s, Ulysses Horta’s score ensured the victory in the 79th minute for the U17s.
Player Spotlight
Even as 15 different players put their name on the scoresheet this weekend, U15 forward Rylan Hashimoto delivered a standout performance. In his team’s 9-0 win, Hashimoto netted five goals – with three score in five minutes and two more before the end of the first half. Rylan has scored 16 goals in league play and twice in the U16 “Best Of” match at the 2023 MLS NEXT Fest Showcase in December.
