Know Your Club – Republic FC
The Indomitable Club continues its stretch of three games in eight days with a midweek contest in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Neill Collins’ squad comes into Wednesday’s on the heels of a resounding 5-0 win over Sporting Club Jacksonville over the weekend.
Tyler Wolff led the way with three goals – the team’s first hat trick since May 2023 – while Memo Rodriguez marked his second consecutive game with multiple goal contributions. This time around, he added three assists, the highest single-game tally of his career. Jared Timmer also tapped in his first goal of the season, while Pep Casas added his second assist across all competitions. Casas has continued to impress in his recent appearances, earning the start in each of Republic FC’s last four games, all of which they’ve gone undefeated. On Saturday, he led all players with 101 touches, while maintaining an impressive 96% passing (88/92), and winning six possessions.
Captain Lee Desmond marked a career milestone with a goal as well. Making his 400th career appearance, the longtime Republic FC Captain headed home the team’s fourth goal of the night, sending the packed crowd at Heart Health Park into a frenzy.
The win gave Sacramento another improvement in the Western Conference table. They now sit in fourth place, still with two games in hand.
Know Your Opponent – FC Tulsa
The defending Western Conference champions have continued to hover near the top of the table throughout the 2026 campaign. They sit 5th in the Western Conference on 26 points thanks to a defense-focused identity that has resulted in seven clean sheets — ranked second in the league — and three consecutive shutouts heading into Wednesday’s contest.
The Scissortails will be well-rested after playing their last match on July 29. In a rematch of the 2025 USL Championship title match, this time it was FC Tulsa who took the win over Pittsburgh. They struck early as Jamie Webber intercepted a Riverhounds throw-in and headed the ball forward for Logan Dorsey. With one bounce, the ball was past the defender, giving Dorsey enough room to fire off a shot from distance. The goal was Dorsey’s second of the regular season, while Webber marked his team-leading fourth assist.
Head-to-Head
Republic FC has dominated this all-time series with 10 wins to Tulsa’s two and two draws. They last met in the 2026 season opener at Heart Health Park. The Indomitable Club held most of the game in their favor with a header goal by Freddy Kleemann and another by Kyle Edwards in the second half to lock in the victory with a 2-0 finish.
