As players around the world prepare for the upcoming international window, one Republic FC Academy player has earned his chance to represent the Indomitable Club on the global stage. Defender Judah Fisher has been selected to join the Rwanda National Team for first round of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers. Rwanda will first take on Sudan at home on September 30 before traveling to face off in the second leg in Sudan on October 6.
“We’re proud to see Judah once again play for his home country,” said Republic FC Academy Director Eder Quintanilla. “This selection is a testament to the work that he puts in to become a better player, on and off the field, and a representation of the many opportunities that can open up for players in our Academy.”
This is Fisher’s third international call up and his most senior selection yet. Last November, he captained Rwanda’s U-17 team for the Africa Cup of Nations regional qualifiers.
A Vacaville native, 17-year-old Fisher joined Republic FC’s Academy at the U-15 level in 2023 after featuring for local youth club Solano Surf. He currently features for the club’s U-19 squad, and over the weekend helped the team open up the season with a 5-1 win over Bay Area Surf.
