Following two weeks of solid showings, Republic FC’s youth teams have another local derby in front of them this weekend when the U15, U17, and U19 squads welcome De Anza Force. Sacramento recorded another undefeated slate last weekend, combining to go 4-0-1 against Sheriffs FC and Ballistic United on the road. It was a gritty afternoon, with only 1 squad splitting the points, due to stout defending from each team. Sacramento conceded just two scores across all five matches.

U13s Continue to Dominate
With their 9-1 win over Sheriffs FC last week, the U13 squad extended what has already been a tremendous season thus far. The contest awarded them their 15th straight victory, and the one score they conceded was just their third all season long. Prior to last Saturday, they had gone four league matches without allowing a single goal while netting 22 scores of their own.
Through February 6, the U13’s sit ten points up on San Jose Earthquakes in the MLS NEXT Northwest Division at 15-0-0. They’ll get this week off from league play, but will resume next week with a trip to Fresno to grapple with Cal Odyssey SC. In their last meeting, Republic FC left with 3 points on a 10-1 win.
This Week’s Matchup: SACvDAF
This weekend, the U15, U17, and U19 squads are in action at home. They’ll host De Anza Force SC of nearby Cupertino – a club that played them tough in each match the last time they met. In their October contests, each fixture was decided by one score or less, and each club took a win, draw, and loss apiece. This time around, Sacramento is feeling especially confident in their chances, especially with the level of improvement they’ve shown in just the last few weeks. Each fixture in January and February has seen the U17 side get better in a different aspect, while the U15’s have continued to fine-tune an already tight operation on all fronts week in and week out.
“There have been big improvements made every week,” said U15 head coach Eder Quintanilla. “All three squads are as confident as they’ve been all season coming into what will be a good matchup with De Anza. They played us tough last time, but it should be a good day.”
The U15 side will kick off first at 10:00 a.m., followed by the U17 and U19 squads at Noon and 2:00 p.m from Cosumnes River College.
