“My very first organized soccer experience was participating in camps and clinics similar to the type of training we do in Sac Republic camps,” Coach Ken said. “As I got older, I played for Davis AYSO, Davis Legacy, and Davis Senior High School.”
But his journey playing soccer spanned across the Pacific, when his family moved to Asia and he picked up a slightly different version of the sport.

“The year that I lived in Japan as a kid, I played futsal,” he explained. “Playing futsal for a year was a really cool experience that helped me improve a lot.”
Nowadays, Coach Ken takes all the teachings he’s learned playing soccer and futsal and applies it to coaching the next wave of soccer stars in Sacramento. It’s a labor of love he finds very fulfilling.
“Helping players learn and seeing them doing something that they couldn’t do before, is an incredible feeling,” Coach Ken said in regard to what he loves about coaching.
And coaching is still something he spends his time doing, even when the Republic FC Summer Camps and Clinics aren’t in session.
