On Thursday, the Grenada Men’s National Team began its 2022 World Cup Qualifying campaign against El Salvador and Republic FC’s Kharlton Belmar got the nod to start for The Spice Boys.

The Group A matchup that was played inside the Estadio Cuscatlan ended 2-0 in favor of the hosts El Salvador – currently ranked 70thin the FIFA World Rankings – but Grenada will look to rebound on Tuesday, March 30 when Belmar and company take on the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Joining Belmar on international duty is SRFC goalkeeper Rafael Diaz who posted a shutout with the Dominican Republic on Wednesday against Dominica. Diaz was handed the start in net and helped to guide his side to a 1-0 win.
Next up for Diaz and the D.R. is a bout against Anguilla on Saturday, March 27 at 3:00 p.m. PT. The second round fixture will be available to stream live on Paramount +.
