Juma is a non-profit social enterprise that operates with businesses with the purpose of employing young people.
The organization prioritizes helping young people who want to work but lack the education, skills, and confidence to earn a paycheck and assist them in managing their money while gaining the expertise in responsibility, teamwork, and communication. The non-profit’s services focus on low-income transition-aged youth (ages 16-24) who are at risk of disconnection from school or work and help put them on a path to establish a career. Many of these young people were raised in poverty, have a history with foster care or juvenile justice, and have experienced significant trauma. Due to this, they face many barriers to finding employment and Juma helps make the connections to find them their next job.
