On the heels of the USWNT’s World Cup victory, Sacramento Republic FC presented a donation to the California Storm women’s soccer team to help fund their travel costs for the 2019 WPSL West Regionals in Southern California.
The contribution from Republic FC, along with grassroots community donations raised through GoFundMe, will help fund the California Storm’s travel costs so they can compete at the 2019 WPSL West Regionals in Southern California after winning their conference title last week in a match Republic FC hosted at Papa Murphy’s Park.

Republic FC have made a commitment to empower local female athletes through its new #WatchMe community initiative. As part of the ongoing program, Republic FC hosted the California Storm’s Pac North Semi-Final match at Papa Murphy’s Park and also partnered with the team to host an all-girls tournament.
California Storm competes in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), which feeds players into the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). The Sacramento-based team has helped produce leading women’s soccer figures, such as current U.S. Women’s National Team star Alex Morgan and two-time World-Cup winner Brandi Chastain.
