SACRAMENTO, Calif. (December 6, 2018) — Sacramento Republic FC announced today the club will be collecting donations of new school supplies from the public to assist victims of the Camp Fire. Donations will be accepted at the Republic FC Team Store (2421 17th St.) beginning today through December 19.
The club is partnering with KHTK Sports 1140 to deliver the donated items to Butte County schools. Republic FC players, staff and fans will join KHTK’s traveling caravan on Dec. 20 to distribute the school supplies in person. The club is inviting all fans who would like to assist with the delivery of items to join the caravan, which will depart from the Republic FC Team Store. More details on the delivery will be announced in the coming days.
“Undoubtedly, we are only weeks into what will be a several years-long process to rebuild,” said Republic FC President & COO Ben Gumpert. “We need to continue to come together as an indomitable community to assist our neighbors in Butte County. This is just one more small way we can help, and I know our fans will join us in these efforts as they have stepped up time and time again.”
Republic FC is accepting donations of new school supplies that can include, but are not limited to, backpacks, paper, pencils, crayons, markers, notebooks and binders. Gift cards will also be accepted.
The collection drive expands on Republic FC’s Camp Fire relief efforts after the club recently provided temporary housing for a Paradise family of six who lost their home in the fires.
