The match is the second and final meeting between Republic FC and T2 this season. T2 won the first matchup between the two, a 2-0 win on Apr. 22 at Papa Murphy’s Park. With the win in April, T2 evened the all-time series between the teams at three wins apiece.

Midfielder Jeremy Hall scored Republic FC’s lone goal on Saturday, an 82nd minute penalty. Hall has scored two USL goals this season and added an assist, his most goals in a season since turning professional in 2009 and his second-most assists in a single season. Hall and defender James Kiffe have been Republic FC’s ironmen this season, with both playing every minute of available match time this season.
Kiffe and Republic FC’s defense that includes Elliott Hord, Emrah Klimenta, Chris Christian and keeper Evan Newton has been particularly strong during the current unbeaten streak, allowing only a single goal against per game. The defensive unit has also not allowed more than two goals against in a single match this season and has recorded five shutouts. Republic FC currently have an active 239 minute shutout streak, their longest of the season.
Midfielder Hayden Partain made his professional debut against WFC2 on Saturday, entering the match as a substitute in the 56th minute. Partain made an immediate impact, springing an attack with his first touch of the match. The midfielder joined Republic FC following a successful season with the Des Moines Menace (PDL).

Forward Villyan Bijev has continued to be a threat for T2 this season, after a USL All-League First Team performance in 2016. Bijev leads T2 with seven goals on the season and is tied for the club lead in chances created with 18. Bijev scored eight goals and added ten assists last season to lead the club in both categories.
Forward Victor Arboleda has been strong this season, being named to the USL Twenty-under-Twenty list for the second consecutive year, this season coming in as number six on the list. Arboleda has scored three goals, recorded an assist and added 16 chances created this season. The 20-year-old Colombian signed with the Portland Timbers in January and has made five first team appearances, but has played most of the season on loan with T2.
