Republic FC continue their road stand this weekend, traveling to Texas to face Rio Grande Valley Toros FC at H-E-B Park on Saturday evening. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PDT and the match will be streamed live on www.sacrepublicfc.com/matchday-guide.
The match will be the first of two meetings between Republic FC and RGV FC this season. Sacramento is currently undefeated against the Toros since the Texan side began USL play in 2016 (3-0-2), winning their last encounter 2-1 at H-E-B Park on September 9, 2017.
Republic FC enters the match following a 1-0 win on the road against Orange County SC. Cameron Iwasa scored his first goal of the 2018 season to earn his side all three points and extend their record to 2-0-0 in league play.
Midfielder Keven Alemán followed his Man-of-the-Match performance against San Antonio FC with his first assist of the season on Iwasa’s goal.
Saturday’s matchup will be just the second of the season for Rio Grande Valley Toros FC after their midweek match against Reno 1868 FC was postponed after storms and potential flash foods produced numerous flight cancellations that prevented Reno’s squad from reaching South Texas in time.
RGV FC is looking for their first win following a 1-1 draw at home in Week 1 against St. Louis FC.
Republic FC will host two official watch parties at Chando’s Cantina in Midtown and Craft Beer Vault in Rocklin. The match will also be shown at Three Mile Brewing (Davis), Grist Beer Hall (Folsom) and Sactown Sports Bar (Old Sacramento).
