Early Season Southbound Trip
Exactly one week after the home opener, Republic FC travels to Las Vegas Lights FC on Saturday, March 14 before visiting archrivals LA Galaxy II in Southern California the following Saturday. The trip to Sin City is only the third time the Indomitable Club has done so and will be looking to earn a first-ever win in Nevada over former U.S. Men’s National Team star, Eric Wynalda’s Lights FC. Republic FC’s most recent (and only) win over Las Vegas was a 1-0 victory in Oct. of 2018. It's time to break the trend.

On Saturday, Mar. 21, SRFC visits Los Dos for the first rivalry game of the young 2020 season. Defender Tomas Hilliard-Arce will face LA for the first time since leaving the SoCal club that drafted him second overall in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft. Republic FC’s Jaime Villarreal will also be paying a visit to his former club with whom he rose through the ranks with, first with the academy before the midfielder earned the opportunity to make several appearances for LA’s MLS-side.

April Trip from Texas to Tacoma
Ten times this season does the Indomitable Club have matches separated by only four days of rest or less. And this road trip is one of them.
The final Saturday in April sees Sacramento travel to Austin Bold FC, a Lone Star State destination that produced a pivotal late season win that helped guide SRFC into the 2019 postseason. Despite being outshot (23 to 7) and out possessed (59% to 41%) by the hosts, Republic FC jumped out to a two-goal lead and held on for a crucial 2-1 victory. Dariusz Formella scored the game winning goal, the first of two consecutive matches that featured the Polish playmaker netting game-winners for the boys in Old Glory Red.

Four days following the battle against Bold, Republic FC travels to Tacoma Defiance for a midweek matchup. If the boys in Old Glory Red opt to travel straight from Texas, that would be a lengthy 1,770-mile flight lasting just a hair under four full hours. Despite Tacoma finishing 2019 with the second-worst record in the Western Conference, Defiance did manage take all three points from last season's fixture against SRFC in Washington, 2-1, but with the help of a handful of first team players from Seattle’s MLS-side. This time around, Republic FC will be ready for anything, and anyone.

Mid-May Sees SRFC Bounce from Southwest to Pacific Northwest
After the boys in Old Glory Red host former USMNT standout Landon Donovan’s San Diego Loyal SC, Republic FC will hit the road for yet another two-game road trip. First up is Portland Timbers 2 on Sunday, May 10. The Indomitable Club will try to avoid tripping up against a tricky T2 team, given Republic FC’s all-time record in Portland is 2-4-0. At home, the all-time series is a completely different story with SRFC having lost just one-in-five matches to T2 in Sacramento. Midfielder Villyan Bijev will be up against his former club, as well as Kharlton Belmar who was named the 2015 USL Rookie of the Year during his first season with Portland.

Thankfully for Mark Briggs’ men, this two-game road trip doesn’t include an upcoming away match on only four days of rest. But it's still a tall order given Saturday, May 16, Republic FC travels to the 2019 Supporters’ Shield winners Phoenix Rising FC. Record-breaking Rising looked unstoppable in Arizona last season, headlined by a 20+ game home winning streak. But all good things must come to an end, as Real Monarchs stunned Phoenix in the Western Conference Semifinals this past season. Republic FC will look to replicate what Real did and escape the Southwest with three massive points on the road.
