“We’re incredibly fortunate to live in a community with passionate and talented creatives that tell the authentic stories of Sacramento – diversity, inclusivity, and the Indomitable spirit – through their art,” said Republic FC Vice President of Marketing Allison Yee-Garcia. “Artist Spotlight will extend our commitment to support artists and creators in our community throughout the year and develop more opportunities to showcase their designs.”
“Supporting the Sacramento Arts community has been a focus of Arden Fair for decades and we are enthused to continue uplifting local talent with our partners at the Sacramento Republic FC,” said Arden Fair Senior Marketing Manager Nathan Spradlin. “This shared vision of showcasing Sacramento’s diverse artistic expression is extremely vital in our current times.”
Artists that work in various mediums – paint, sculpture, apparel, digital design, muralists, photography, and more – can share their portfolio with the club and help create some of the memorable moments for the upcoming season. Selection will occur on an ongoing basis throughout the year, with the first opportunity to come before the end of February. If selected for this year’s Artist Spotlight, artists will be commissioned to create original works that support a variety of club initiatives and campaigns.
In addition to helping the club create unique artistic selections that showcase the region’s creativity throughout the year, artists will be profiled on the club’s website and social media channels, as well as on the LED Towers greeting mall guests, in storefront displays, and through future immersive displays.
Republic FC has been committed to providing a platform for the arts since the club’s formation. Recently, the club commissioned an original selection for Boards for Change – and collaborated with the organization to turn the fan-less stands during the 2020 season into an art gallery and pair of corresponding auctions to support local organizations that work with Black youth. Local artist Marco Estrada created a mural on the club’s most recent futsal court renovation during Hispanic Heritage Month, inspiring players and visitors to learn about different cultures and traditions of this diverse community. The club has hosted an annual Fan Can artwork competition, Paint The Park – an extension of the city’s annual mural festival, and has collaborated with artists to create season scarves and fan-favorite apparel.
