Republic FC and G6 Performance Training announced today a new partnership rooted in community health and wellness. On September 16 the partners will work with Western Health Advantage to open Heart Health Park for “Fit x G6” a free open-to-the-public workout event with exercises for people of all ages and fitness levels.
“We are thrilled to continue to utilize Heart Health Park as a community hub for health and wellness,” said Republic FC Chief Revenue Officer Dustin Vicari. “Through our new partnership with G6 Performance Training, we hope to inspire fans and community members to make their health a priority, and highlight a locally-owned business that can help make that possible.”
“We are honored to collaborate with Sacramento Republic FC, a club that shares our values of community, excellence, and dedication. Together, we aim to inspire and empower Sacramento residents and athletes to prioritize their health and wellness while involving themselves in community events,” said Gabe Lemon, Owner of G6 Performance Training.
Fit x G6 programming will be designed and led by certified trainers from G6 Performance Training, with a focus on an athletic performance approach to fitness, encompassing strength training, cardiovascular exercises, flexibility, and agility drills. Each exercise will be modifiable to accommodate people of all fitness levels and ages.
Registration is open now at SacRepublicFC.com/fit. Attendance is free, but participants will have the option to make a donation to the American Heart Association upon registration, with Republic FC matching any donations. Each attendee will also receive a free ticket to that night’s Republic FC match, as well as a swag bag with fun club gear.
Since 2019, G6 has specialized in sports performance training, helping athletes reach their full potential through conditioning, strength, and agility. The gym recently opened its first brick-and-mortar facility in Midtown Sacramento, making it more accessible for people of all fitness levels – from those just starting out on their wellness journey to elite athletes.
In May 2021, Republic FC and Western Health Advantage partnered to rename the team’s home field Heart Health Park as part of a collaborative effort to call attention to the importance of community health and wellbeing, in place of the health plan’s name. Since then, the Indomitable Club has opened Heart Health Park for a variety of community events, from fitness classes and vaccination clinics, to Sacramento Covered’s Healthy Sacramento Day – a free event offering complimentary services including health dental screenings. Republic FC and Western Health Advantage extended the initiative beyond physical health this year, adding a patch to the club’s jersey to promote 988, the national suicide prevention and crisis lifeline.
Republic FC closes out its four-week road stretch this Saturday at Loudoun United. Kickoff from Segra Field is set for 4:30 p.m. and the match will be broadcast in English and Spanish on FOX40, as well as streaming on FOX40.com, the FOX40 News mobile app, and ESPN+. On August 26, the Indomitable Club finally returns to play in front of its home fans for a 10th Season Celebration Match at Hughes Stadium, the site of its first-ever home game in 2014.
