Sacramento, Calif. – Voting is now open for the fourth edition of Republic FC Kickstart, the small-business grant program powered by fan and community nominations, through Republic FC’s partnership with Suncrest Bank. Aligned with local Pride month celebrations, this month’s edition will award $10,500 to five LGBTQ+ owned businesses in the Sacramento Region. Since the program’s inception in September 2020, Suncrest Bank and Republic FC have awarded $31,500 in cash grants to minority- and women-owned businesses.

Public voting opens today and will run through June 14. Fans can vote for up to five businesses, casting one ballot daily. Thirty businesses representing eight industries were nominated and are eligible to compete for the $10,500 grant pool. All nominated businesses will have the opportunity to receive additional resources and services through Suncrest Bank.
Through fan voting, five finalists will be selected to present to a panel of LGBTQ+ advocates and business leaders including Uptown Studios President Tina Reynolds, Rainbow Chamber Foundation President Paul Weubbe and PHPR Owner Patrick Harbison, as well as April Funston from Suncrest Bank and Dustin Vicari from Republic FC. Each finalist will receive a share of the $10,500 grant pool — $5,000, $2,500 for second place, and three $1,000 grants, as well as be highlighted on Republic FC’s channels and during the club’s June 26 Pride Night at Heart Health Park.
