Mental Health Awareness Month & 988 Lifeline
Throughout the month, Republic FC – along with partners Western Health Advantage and WellSpace Health – continued to share resources and information surrounding suicide prevention and mental health support services. Through videos (including a PSA with California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom), social media posts, and written content, the club aims to drive awareness for 988, the national suicide prevention lifeline.

Women’s Empowerment Night
On May 13, Republic FC celebrated Women’s Empowerment Night at Heart Health Park, highlighting and thanking women and girls who are making a difference in sports and business throughout the region – including 10 women doctors from UC Davis Health who are changing the game in healthcare.
Prior to the match, women from the team’s front office spent an evening serving dinner to 150 residents at Saint John’s Program for Real Change. The organization provides shelter and resources for women and children struggling with homelessness and other challenges such as poverty, substance use disorder, mental health, violence and abuse – and works to help them build successful new lives.
The club also hosted a free all-girls clinic, where over 130 youth players from the region gathered to work on their technical skills, teamwork, and leadership.
Military Care Packages
With the team on the road on May 17, Republic FC brought a group of volunteers together to prepare care packages for deployed U.S. military service members. 20 people – including fans and Delta Dental employees – gathered at Veteran-owned brewery At Ease to assemble kits with toiletries, Republic FC gear, snacks, and activities. The supplies will be distributed by Operation: Care and Comfort, an organization that has packed and mailed over a million pounds of care packages.
Honor Our Educators Night
Republic FC celebrated Teachers Appreciation Week with a special free ticket offer for the region’s dedicated teachers, administrators, and school employees for the club’s Honor Our Educators match on May 20. Over 500 teachers claimed a free ticket! Not only did the team get a 3-1 win over rival Oakland Roots, but during halftime one lucky teacher from Robla School District won $500 for classroom supplies.
Later this year, the club will team up with the Sacramento County Office of Education to honor its Teachers of the Year in an on-field presentation.
Over Under Court at Carmichael Park
The Indomitable Club closed out the month by joining forces with the Carmichael Recreation and Park District, County Supervisor Rich Desmond, and non-profit organization Over Under Initiative (OUI) to open a new multi-sport surface where the community can gather and play year-round. Using innovative technology called “Goalpher” the Over Under Court at Carmichael Park has an underground goal system that lifts and installs a soccer goal in seconds. Read more about it here!
This is the 11th court developed by Republic FC and its partners since 2019.
